HOW ABOUT.......?
This is where you get to help us find new and creative ways to use your SEW YOU WANT TO BE A QUILTER Question and Answer cards! There are many ways that the Question and Answer cards may be used for the fun and enjoyment of you and your quilting friends, so put your thinking caps on and offer up your suggestions. Who knows, your name and idea may just make it onto our web site showing others how to make the most of their copy of Sew You Want To Be A Quilter.
Please send your ideas to nqpcomments@nwqp.com and they might just show up on the list below.
So lets get the ball rolling, HOW ABOUT.......
1. Taking Sew You Want To Be A Quilter on your next SHOP HOP or ROAD TRIP: Grab a stack of the Question and Answer Cards when you go on your next Shop Hop or Road Trip. Take a piece of paper and write down everyone's name that will be in the car with you. One of the passengers will ask questions, NEVER THE DRIVER, and passengers will answer. If you get it right put a mark below your name, not right - no mark. At the end of the trip, the person with the most correct answers wins!!!
2. Sew You Want To Be A Quilter version of the TV program Jeopardy®: We want to thank the ladies who let us know about how they used our questions to set up Quilter's Jeopardy at their guild meeting. They started by setting up several categories, like Notions, Fabric, Blocks, History, People and Places, and Techniques. They then went through the question cards to selected around 8 questions for each category. Guild members divided up into teams, each team having some sort of noise maker like a whistle, trash can lid, whoopie cushion and such. The members then played Quilter's Jeopardy and said they had more fun than they could imagine. Thank you for this GREAT idea!!! Aurora did the same thing when she recently visited her old Quilt Guild, Village Quilters, in San Diego. There were about 80 people present, divided into teams. Aurora said everyone had a blast.
3. Sew You Want To Be A Quilter SIT N SEW / QUILT TILL YOU WILT: At your next get together have one person read questions from the Question/Answer cards. Going in order, ask each participant a different question (questions on each card are random so you can read all 6 questions from each card before going to the next card). Keep score of the number of correct answers for each participant. At the end of the evening, the participant with the most correct answers wins a prize!
4. Fat Quarter Up: Each player submits a Fat Quarter to the Box Top. The first Player to reach a Quilt Store wins the pot! Players then "ante up" for the next round. Again, the first Player to reach a Quilt Store wins the pot, and so on and so on. Submitted by Brenda Breadon, Lakewood, Colorado.
5. Sew You Want To Be A Quilter GAME NIGHT AT THE QUILT STORE: Ask your local quilt store to sponsor a Game Night and donate prizes. Depending on the number of participants, set up multiple games, or use one of the suggestions above to conduct your game play.
6. Use a second die: Tris Fisher of Hayden Lake, Idaho has suggested that the use of a second die, for controlling the number of spaces for moves, will speed up game play. Thus players might be able to move up to 12 spaces per roll rather than the limit of 6 by using one die. Novel idea!
